To sit down at dinner and bond over a meal is a treat in itself. Food touches everybody, and so many of our most talked about memories involve it. So, when you come to Supper Club expect bench-style seating because we want to squeeze you in there and we want you to sit right next to somebody new and start a conversation. Then, the food will come out, and it’s going to bring it all together full circle.
Seasonal menus, always rotating. Don’t forget to bring the wine. We’re BYOB.
“I’m most excited to share my family recipes growing up in an Italian/Irish American North Side “Yinzer” family here in Pittsburgh. I’ve traveled to France and Italy, which is what my impression of food heaven is and the source of my inspiration when creating our menus. I love creating happiness through food for all to enjoy. My son and I wanted to create a place that reminds you of the food you ate growing up.“
-Chef Ray
We support local farms and strive to buy as much locally sourced food ingredients as possible. Little Ray and I prepare every dish from scratch, down to the sauces.
Shaking the hand of Raymond Mikesell is like gripping the hand of a professional football player. It is large, strong – and perfect for digging into dough and kneading it to perfection to make the breads and pastries. His shop, Café Raymond, is the place where those hands work from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. on a regular basis doing what he loves most: Baking.
Raymond Mikesell wanted to make Sunday supper, the kind he had growing up on the North Side of Pittsburgh that began with waking up early to the rich aroma of his mother’s sauce and ended with his siblings and cousins playing pick-up baseball or football in the backyard while the grown-ups sat on the porch with their Coleman coolers popping the tops off of Schmidt’s beers and solving the neighborhood’s problems.
Chef Raymond Mikesell called me last night from Middle-of-Nowhere, Montana to talk about a restaurant he’s opening — or, in this case, reopening — in the South Hills of Pittsburgh.
Tradition and family values are two big morals for the Pittsburgh community. From cookie tables to The Terrible Towel, we pass down traditions throughout generations to maintain a legacy. That’s why it’s big news that Chef Raymond Mikesell is reopening the widely known, city favorite Wild Rosemary, with a special focus around the family meal.
